Why Is Restorative Dentistry Important?

If your child has cavities or damaged their teeth, restorative dentistry is used to help protect children from pain, infection and sleepless nights.

During your child’s dental exam or another appointment, our practice will recommend restorative dentistry if needed.

Our practice offers the following restorative dental services.

Silver fillings

Silver fillings are generally best used for patients at high risk for cavities. They are safe and effective.

White fillings

White fillings are generally best used for smaller cavities and esthetic areas.

Crowns

Dental crowns are the longest lasting restoration for large cavities in baby molars. They are the best treatment option when a nerve treatment is required.

Crowns for baby teeth are available in stainless steel or tooth coloured zirconia. We will work with you and your child to determine which type of crown is best.
